Annapolis Moms 2024 Summer Camp Guide

LETTER FROM THE PUBLISHER Thirteen years ago, I started the Annapolis Moms Facebook group. I invited all 12 of my preschool mom friends to join and explained that they had to pretend they didn’t know each other. We needed to populate the group with content to show other members how it worked. I told my good friend and soon to be co-admin, Jessica Opert, to comment on a post I would make about summer camps. I wrote, “What is everyone doing for summer camp?” Jessica dutifully responded with, “You know what we are doing, Scott is going to summer camp with Lulu!” We still laugh about that today and how far we have come! To this day, around Christmas time, Annapolis Moms is flooded with camp posts at a fevered pitch which doesn’t relent until the last week of August. This year, Jeff Peri, my husband and partner in crime, devoted 100’s of hours to assemble the Mother of All Camp Guides so you don’t have to! There are over 300 camps with descriptions, contacts, and websites. You will see familiar camps and some new ones too! The guide is interactive so you can phone/call directly from the guide or go to the website with a quick click. You can also search by category for types of camps. We will be updating our Camp Guide on a weekly basis so you will always know which camps have availability (to the best of our knowledge). When a camp is full, it will be marked FULL so there is no guessing!

As we were assembling this beast of a guide, it got me back to thinking of my own childhood in Pines on the Severn in Arnold. I saw an old photo that was taken by Kirk Thompson in 1978, when our neighborhood would have all of the kids wrestle to pull out a greased watermelon from the river. None of us remember what the prize was, because it really didn’t matter. In the photo you can see smiling kids that I am still friends with, one being my sister, Erica Dolgoff! Wonderful lifelong memories were made every summer! Camp and summer are magical in the Annapolis Area. We hope this guide makes planning less stressful so that you and your family can enjoy the summer fully!
