It's that time of year again when the weather in Maryland feels like a moody teenager bound on the brink of rebellion. One minute the weather is warm and happy with a bright and sunny disposition. The next minute it’s turned a cold shoulder to something you’ve said, while making a bold statement with lots of sass. Whether you're new to Maryland or have lived here for a while, you've probably realized we're consistently right in the middle of most extreme weather patterns. We don't get as cold as our Pennsylvania neighbors, nor do we get as hot and steamy as our southern friends down in Virginia. Fall and winter are usually mild. A heavy sweater, with jeans, and a pair of boots are sure to keep you warm and cozy under a mid to heavy weight jacket. Similar to the current fall vibes, the emergence of spring can be a little deceptive. The weather outside is bright, sunny, and unbelievably gorgeous. But man, is it still chilly! Long sleeves, jeans, and a mid-weight jacket should be enough to keep you comfortable. For most of us, summer is probably the easiest season to dress for. By the end of May, shorts and flip flops are a must for most outdoor activities. One of the major lessons I've learned about living here for the last 6 years is that it's best to always be prepared for both inclement and nice weather, in other words: layers, layers, layers and an extra pair of clothes ! Forrest’s momma was right, “Life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you’re gonna get.” The same can also be said for Maryland weather.
