The Motherlode Spring 2024: Women at the Helm

Yoga We Can’t Get Enough Ohmmmm By Jackie Shea There really is nothing like moving your body, strengthening your inner and outer being (simultaneously!), and ending the hour with a bit of Zen. Yoga anyone? My favorite is hot yoga. Something about working out while detoxing in a hot climate is a super vibe for me. Online yoga is a great choice when you can’t get into classes in person, but we are lucky to have many places to get our yogi on nearby. Proven to improve both sleep and energy – yoga provides many benefits. All you need is yourself and a mat. There are other tools one can use to practice, and most studios offer those for classes. Check out some fave Annapolis-area studios recommended by Annapolis Moms members! BLUE LOTUS – This studio, located on the Annapolis Neck peninsula, opened in 2018 and offers several options. During the summer, they have a floating peninsula at the Annapolis Sailing School for outdoor practice! 119 Hillsmere Dr, Annapolis YOGA BARN – Steps from the B&A Trail in Severna Park, this converted barn is a shared space that is available to rent for events and offers various classes and passes. Grab a latté after class at The Coffee Trailer and bike home down the trail! 44 W Earleigh Heights Rd, Severna Park YOGA FACTORY – With locations on West Street in Annapolis and Route 3 in Crofton, these studios have classes all day, seven days a week, including hot yoga with experienced instructors. 1901 West St, Annapolis 1119 MD-3, Gambrills TRUE MOON – Situated in the adorable area of Cape St. Claire, True Moon offers heated, non-heated, and a variety of other classes (40+/ week)! 530 College Pkwy, Annapolis MAGNOLIA WELLNESS – Also in Severna Park, this studio offers massage, breathwork, bodywork, sound bath therapy, and reiki in addition to traditional yoga. 497 Ritchie Hwy, Suites 1 A&B, Severna Park So, if you’re looking for a way to move your body, get your blood pumping and muscles working, and most of all – release stress? Give it a try – yoga…ohhhhmmmm.
