Maryland Center for History and Culture | Baltimore Explore a variety of onsite and at-home resources for homeschool families. Maryland Science Center: Homeschool Programs | Baltimore The Maryland Science Center offers programs such as live science shows and pop-up science activities that engage your child’s interest by asking them to predict scientific outcomes! The great part is you can join your child! Maryland State House: Archives | Annapolis The Maryland State House offers an educational resource for teachers looking to enrich their history curriculum. The Document Packets cover a variety of topics and eras within Maryland’s history. This wonderful, and free resource houses online versions of original documents which are a great addition to further deepen your homeschooler’s interest in history. Maryland State House & Legislative Complex | Annapolis The Maryland State House in Annapolis is open every day to the public from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. Here you can embark on a self-guided tour with your homeschooler, and learn more about “America’s first peacetime capitol and the oldest state house still in legislative use!” Maryland Zoo | Baltimore The Zoo is a great resource to support student learning in areas from science and social studies to art and design! Maryland homeschool groups (age 5 through grade 12) are eligible to participate in the grant-funded Free Field Trip Program. Homeschools may visit on a field trip up to 3 times per academic year. National Aquarium | Baltimore The National Aquarium welcomes homeschool families and groups to visit, explore, and get hands-on with our aquatic world. Specially themed experiences and thoughtful programs for students of all ages make the Aquarium's homeschool programs the perfect complement to any science curriculum. National Children's Museum | Washington, DC Designed to nurture the natural curiosity of our youngest, early learner programs provide families with the opportunity to play and grow together. These multi- sensory experiences promote the development of language, motor skills, and social skills. Check for special sensory- friendly hours.

National Cryptologic Museum | Annapolis Junction The National Cryptologic Museum has fun, educational field trip programs for grades 4 to 12. A variety of STEM- based programs are available. National Gallery of Art: Homeschool Programs and Resources | Washington, DC Homeschool groups are welcome to tour the museum independently. For homeschool groups of 15 participants or more, please complete the self-guided group form at least four weeks before your visit. Virtual field trips are also available. National Museum of Natural History (NMNH): Online Homeschool Day Zoom Webinars | Washington, DC These webinars are designed to accommodate individual students or small groups with less than 15 students. Students will not be visible to the museum educator or other students, but they will be able to submit questions in writing through the Q&A and interact through polls. Homeschool Days occur on the first Monday of the month. Natural History Society of Maryland | Baltimore These courses will provide families with meaningful, hands-on learning experiences to broaden their understanding of the animals, plants, and natural features that also call Maryland home. Courses are an excellent opportunity for motivated junior high and high school students to supplement their current science courses and to prepare for further study in these fields at a college level. Port Discovery Children’s Museum | Baltimore Port Discovery Children’s Museum features hands- on experiences, interactive exhibits, and entertaining programs! This museum offers a great way to build motor skills and encourages the use of one’s imagination. Take a break from the rigid curriculum and connect with your homeschooler in a way that is fun and educational! Open 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, Wednesday-Sunday. This museum is best for children under 8 years old. Reptile World with Michael Shwedick | Bowie If your homeschooler has an interest in reptiles, this is a great resource to explore that interest! This very cool program teaches your homeschooler about the different types of reptiles in our natural world and encourages them to be curious. The reptile world caters to all ages and most presentations are 45-90 minutes in length. Skate Zone: Home School STEM & Skate | Crofton This program is for grades K-8. Homeschoolers will participate in a STEM lesson followed by skating! Students will learn how the concepts of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math can be found in everyday experiences like roller skating!
